Prof. Julie Ann A. Salido is an Associate Professor IV, GAD Focal Person, TWG Representative in WVCIEERD, and ITSO Technical Expert in Mechanical of Aklan State University, and PhD Candidate in Computer Science at De La Salle University. As a grantee of the Science and Engineering Government Scholarship Program (June 2010-May 2012) sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education, she obtained her Master of Science in Computer Science degree from the Department of Computer Studies, Algorithm and Complexity Laboratory at the University of the Philippines – Diliman.
At that time, her research interests focused on bioinformatics, information technology, and applied computer science. She has published research articles on computer graphics, computer vision, life sciences and bioinformatics in high impact journals such as IEEE transactions, ACM and Elsevier that are Scopus indexed. Her current research is focus on skin cancer and disease detection using clinical and dermoscopic images through deep convolutional neural network, region based CNN, and semantic segmentation.
Areas of interest are in Computer Vision, Data Analytics/Intelligence and other application of Computer Science in other fields. She is currently a project leader of the approved project in DOST PCIEERD RRI and DOST VI on the “Design and Development of a Low-Cost Mobile Data Acquisition System for Small Crafts”.
